I wanted to update you on where my organisation has got to as we all tackle the issues Covid-19 has created and wanted to wish you, your families and loved ones a safe and healthy passage through this next few weeks or months.
As you know the main operational productivity of Shaping is where we get teams of committed volunteers together to tackle and resolve the programmes we are responsible for and this is clearly not possible with the current restrictions. We also are normally promoting through our various media channels the work of our sponsors and again this too is affected by the situation.
I have therefore taken the decision to furlough two of my four staff and reorganise the work for the remaining two, and I hope this situation will not last too long but it is the most practical thing to do in order to best protect the long term for the organisation.
Therefore over the coming weeks if you need to get in touch with us please use only one of these two email addresses:
Either Sam or I will then respond as soon as we can.
Whilst the normal day to day activities of Shaping are paused we are active in promoting and communicating what the central government, local government and others are doing in the City and we will continue to play a key role in this going forward.
At this point I want to particularly pay my respects and gratitude to the Hive team and Pompey in the Community who are both working round the clock to support those in most need in the City. Along with the main Charities this sector is doing a wonderful job for those most in need. We will do all we can over the coming weeks to support their needs and communicate their achievements.
This pandemic has touched all of us in one way or another and I cannot think of another way to end this update than to say:
Stay At Home
Protect The NHS
Thank you and please stay safe and well and I look forward to meeting as may of you as I can when we are through this situation.
