Gig Buddies Portsmouth
A gig buddy is a volunteer that is matched with a person with a learning disability to go to gigs, socials and share hobbies together. Whether you are in to live music, theatre, outdoor activities or crafts, use your love of socialising and fun to help someone else in your community get out and enjoy themselves a couple of times a month.”
As a Gig Buddy volunteer you will be DBS checked and required to attend a three hour training session one evening, once trained you will be matched with an adult with a learning disability and it will be your responsibility to keep in touch with them and that you meet with your Buddy at least once a month. Gig Buddies Portsmouth organise monthly group socials that will put you in touch with other volunteers and their buddies so that you can exchange ideas.
