Organisers for Venturefest South 2018 have today published the final list of 18 innovative businesses who will be pitching for a combined total of £9m of investment at the one-day conference for entrepreneurs, innovators and investors in Winchester on 1 March.
Portsmouth-based Transparently, Forty1 Kitesurfing and Care Quest are three of over 33 companies from across Dorset, Hampshire and Surrey which submitted their business case to be considered, and three of the 18 finalists to have the opportunity to present their business ideas to a panel of investors.
Fareham-based, Transparently is a legal tech start-up that simplifies negotiation and automates evidence gathering. Transparently provides solicitors and barristers with a unique insight into their cases, and individuals with the ability to receive proactive, real-time advice and support. The company will be pitching for an investment ask of £400,000 at Venturefest South 2018.
Forty1 Kitesurfing is developing a low profile hydrofoil to improve the experience and accessibility for kitesurfers of all abilities, worldwide. The company’s goal is to be a global brand, designing and innovating in the kitesurfing industry. Forty1 Kitesurfing is proudly based in Portsmouth, building on the city’s heritage, local skills and knowledge, including working with the university. The company will be pitching for an investment ask of £150,000 during Pitchfest.
Portchester-based Care Quest, is a unique online service that matches patients with care providers based on their services, location and availability. Care Quest’s bespoke system was set up as a direct response to the growing issue of patient care, designed to be an easier, more effective way to deliver care services. The company will be pitching for a total ask of £250,000.
The Pitchfest finalists are judged to have the best business concepts and to be investment-ready. One slot in the final 18 has been reserved for the winner of the open mic competition that will take place on the day. Any innovator may have the opportunity to present their business idea to the investors.

We have worked closely with each of the applicants to help ensure they are investment ready. Those who have made it through are exciting businesses that cover a range of sectors from automotive, health tech and space. I wish them all the best of luck and wonder if the next big idea might make an appearance at Venturefest South this year.”
