Portsmouth people have a chance to make one of the city's green spaces a national favourite.
Last month Baffins Pond, Milton Park and Southsea Rock Gardens were given sought-after Green Flag awards.
Now the Green Flag competition organisers, Keep Britain Tidy, are asking people to decide which winners around the country should receive a national People’s Choice award.
They are asking people to pick their favourite green space and vote for it online, to help it get into the top 10 on the People’s Choice list. Just go to www.greenflagaward.org, find your favourite on the winners map and click the voting button.
Once you’ve registered your vote, you can encourage others to get involved on social media using the hashtag #PeoplesChoice.
Cllr Steve Pitt, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport at Portsmouth City Council, said: "It's great that Portsmouth has three of these prestigious Green Flag awards. We're very proud of our green spaces and it would be brilliant to have one become a national favourite."
Voting opened 1st September and closes 30th September, with the top 10 sites being announced on 16th October.
Paul Todd, Green Flag Award manager, said: "This year 1,883 parks and green spaces met the tough standards demanded by our Green Flag Award judges, but we want to know which parks the UK public love the most. The People’s Choice award is a chance to show how much your favourite park means to you. If it’s worth shouting about, make your voice heard and vote now.”
