Port Solent has teamed up with the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation for a second year to give families the chance to learn how to kayak and stand up paddleboard, as part of a series of Watersports Weekends from June - August.
The first Port Solent Watersports Weekend will take place on 1st-2nd June, and will invite little and big kids alike to get out on the water in the marina and try popular watersports for a £5 donation.
Funds raised from all of the Watersports Weekends will help the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation to facilitate a wider participation in sailing among children and young adults from all backgrounds, and physical and educational abilities.
Lisa Fowler, Events and Marketing Manager at Port Solent, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation again, to give our visitors the chance to have fun on the water and get a taster of some water-based sports. We look forward to seeing families and friends having fun in our marina, and invite everybody to join us in one of our restaurants for a post-watersports meal to build their energy back up and make a real day of it at Port Solent.”
Further Watersports Weekends will take place on 6th-7th July and 31st August-1st September.
