Portsmouth City Council are looking for D-Day Volunteers to help make visitors feel welcome and update them on new experiences coming soon at The D-Day Story.
The D-Day Story is the only attraction in Britain dedicated to the D-Day landings of 6th June 1944. In 2020 the museum will be joined by Landing Craft Tank 7074 (LCT 7074).
At 59 metres long, LCT 7074 carried up to ten tanks, men and supplies across the Channel to liberate Europe.
This will provide a whole new experience for visitors, and the team of volunteers play a key role by updating visitors and assisting at community events or giving talks.
Cllr Steve Pitt, Deputy Leader at Portsmouth City Council said: "Volunteers play an important role at The D-Day Story talking to our visitors. Our volunteers also get a great deal of satisfaction and enjoyment from it too. Volunteers will receive comprehensive training and it's open to everyone."
If you are interested in volunteering at The D-Day Story please visit www.theddaystory.com, search jobs/volunteering, and complete the application form by 18th October.
