After a successful 20th anniversary, Portsmouth Festivities are opening up for applications to their Community Programme in 2020.
Portsmouth Festivities celebrates the best of Portsmouth and offers creative individuals and organisations the chance to showcase their work. There were many successful applicants to last year’s Festivities, including Twenty Years and local artist Clarke Reynolds. Many of these community events created projects with a much greater lifespan than just over the 10-day festival.
Portsmouth Festivities is calling for organisations and individuals from the community to apply to put on an event as part of Festivities 2020. This is a fantastic chance to showcase new and existing talent within a Festival framework. It’s a wonderful opportunity within the City and it will increase the Festivities offer to deliver the best Festivities yet!
This year there is no theme, so there is scope for you as an organisation to have full artistic licence on the event you would like to bring to the people of Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
Erica Smith, Festivities Director, said “We have had such imaginative and inventive applications over the last few years and we look forward to the outcome of this year’s Open Call. It’s a great way to get involved in the Festival.”
Portsmouth Festivities 2020 will run between Friday 12th and Sunday 21th June 2020.
If you would like to propose an event, contact the Festivities team at

Deadline for entries is midday Friday 6th December.
