Portsmouth’s own local Store Manager and viral sensation, Amy Lenton, has been awarded ‘Best Company Ambassador’ by The Real Eating Company.
Announced at an awards ceremony last month, the event celebrated staff from across all of The Real Eating Company’s restaurants and cafes in the UK. Amy, Store Manager at The Real Eating Company in Gunwharf Quays, won ‘Best Company Ambassador’ for her fun and friendly management style, and the eccentric images and videos she posts on The Real Eating Company’s social media channels.
Helena Hudson, Managing Director of The Real Eating Company, said: “If we could clone Amy we would. She has bags of energy, initiative and charisma and is a fantastic asset to the Real Eating Company gang as well as Gunwharf Quays.
Everyone unanimously agreed that she was an obvious choice for this award and the fact that she’s our youngest manager makes it an even more outstanding achievement.”
Amy has worked at The Real Eating Company in Gunwharf Quays since it opened in 2017, starting out as a Barista and quickly rising through the ranks to become Store Manager.
Amy added: “It was a wonderful surprise to win the ‘Best Company Ambassador’ award this year. I am extremely proud to be part of The Real Eating Company family and to continuously play a part in helping to bring high-quality British casual dining to the South.
Knowing that The Real Eating Company recognises and appreciates my enthusiasm for its brand is just the cherry on top!”
In addition to her fun and friendly management style, and eccentric social media content, Amy has been a staunch advocate for The Real Eating Company’s sustainability initiatives, including the introduction of its limited-edition 100% compostable cup.
The company also announced earlier this year that it was eliminating plastic across all its cafés where possible in favour of 100% plant-based, sustainably made and biodegradable packaging.
Yvonne Clay, Senior Marketing Manager at Gunwharf Quays, commented: "Amy and her team are well known by employees and visitors at Gunwharf alike as being friendly, fun and approachable.
On behalf of everybody at Gunwharf Quays, I would like to congratulate Amy for being recognised for her amazing work as an outstanding ambassador to both the Real Eating Company and the centre. We particularly love Amy’s unwavering support for The Real Eating Company’s stance on sustainability, which is very much in line with our own.”
