It is through a shared vision and values, and the passion and commitment to serve the community, that GoGeek Events were announced as an official major partner to Portsmouth Comic Con in 2018.

Since hosting the hugely successful cosplay stage at the inaugural Portsmouth Comic Con, GoGeek Events has worked tirelessly with The Guildhall Trust throughout 2018-2019 to promote Comic Con and provide the community with unforgettable experiences in welcoming and inclusive environments.

GoGeek Events’ cosplay icons have attended numerous venues and events throughout the year including QA Hospital Children’s Ward, Portsmouth Pride and community events in Hayling Island and Portchester to name just a few, providing delight and photo opportunities to all.

We are therefore delighted that GoGeek Events has officially become a Community Interest Company, a special form of non-profit company which exists to benefit the community and pursue a social purpose ahead of making profits.

GoGeek Events has also joined the Anti-Bullying Alliance which raises awareness of and promotes anti-bullying with an enhanced focus on equality, diversity and inclusion within the community, across all genders, ages and race. Today we support them in their bid to raise awareness and stamp out bullying during Anti-Bullying Week by wearing odd socks for Odd Socks Day!

Comic Cons and cosplay fandom events are becoming increasingly popular, allowing people to be whoever they want to be without social expectation and where individuality and uniqueness are encouraged and celebrated.

The Guildhall Trust is proud to be partnered with GoGeek Events to create Portsmouth Comic Con which has a zero-tolerance policy to any form of bullying or discrimination, making it one of the friendliest and inclusive Comic Cons around.

Portsmouth Comic Con returns to Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May celebrating the best of comics, film, TV and pop culture entertainment for aficionados, fans and families alike, featuring incisive panels, interactive fun in the form of VR experiences, robots, retro and board gaming plus cosplay, exhibitions, displays, workshops and a Comic City packed full of merch and collectables.

Entry to the Con’s daily Cosplay Parades on the School of Wizards stage, hosted by GoGeek Events, is open online now at www.portsmouthcomiccon.com. All cosplayers are welcomed to enter the parades with sections for under and over 12s available.
