Portsmouth Festivities secures National Lottery support for Submerged

Portsmouth Festivities has received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant for their arts and heritage project “Submerged” which will be led by Young Carers, to create multi-media art installations drawing inspiration from the 475th anniversary of the sinking of the Mary Rose, King Henry VIII’s flagship, a key part of Portsmouth’s heritage.

Free breakfast briefing for city businesses

Portsmouth City Council 2016Local businesses are invited to find out about Portsmouth City Council's vision for the city, hear from key speakers and network with partner organisations, at a free breakfast networking event on Friday 6 March 2020.

The annual Future Portsmouth event takes place from 7.30am - 10am at the Village Hotel, Lakeside North Harbour. The Leader of the Council, Cllr Gerald Vernon-Jackson, will be sharing the vision for Portsmouth and there will be an opportunity to ask the questions that really matter about the great waterfront city.

Eight more beds for rough sleepers

Portsmouth City Council 2016More beds will be available for rough sleepers in the city from next month.

At the moment there are 49 beds in two Portsmouth City Council night shelters, compared to 45 at this time last year. From March there will be eight more beds, taking the total to 57, after extra funding was provided by the council.
