Cyber Safe City

Led By: Roland Hedges

Vision & Mission

Cybercrime is an escalating issue facing our city, one which frequently delivers devastating financial, legal, and emotional consequences to its victims. Utilizing online educational programmes, local media, social media, business networking groups and more, the Portsmouth Cyber Safe City project is empowering owners and employees of small businesses across the region to make smarter security decisions every moment of every day. Through a cultural shift in cybersecurity awareness and day-to-day best practices by the people of Portsmouth, secure and predictable working environments will flourish. This in turn confers confidence, drives growth, and will attract further investments into our outstanding city.

Shaping’s Cyber Safe City Programme calls on businesses for vital knowledge.

In 2019, over 100 businesses across Hampshire reported being victims of cybercrime, at a cost of over £500,000! Cyber crimes are on the rise, and could have severe financial and reputational impacts on our City’s businesses.

Working alongside Hampshire Constabulary and many industry experts, Shaping Portsmouth are committed to helping Portsmouth businesses become as Cyber-Safe as possible with our Cyber Safe City Programme.

As part of the this we are calling on Portsmouth businesses to give us your feedback around your understanding and awareness of Cyber Security as an issue. We have drafted a short survey which will help shape our work and inform us of the needs of the Portsmouth Business Community.
