We’re looking for apprentices to join us on the Apprenticeship Bus tour in February 2023 as part of National Apprenticeship Week, which will have the theme of Skills for Life.
Each year, the Apprenticeship Bus travels around the city taking apprentices from Portsmouth-based businesses and organisations into schools, giving pupils a chance to meet them face to face and get a real, first-hand insight into what life is like as an Apprentice.
Each school visit lasts around one hour, and the pupils get the chance to hear what the overall Apprenticeship programme can offer.
We would like to offer pupils the chance to meet apprentices from as wide a range of job sectors as possible and so far we have apprentices confirmed from the areas below:
- Accounting
- Aviation and Aerospace Component Manufacturing
- Construction
- Education
- Events Services
- Government Administration
- Hospitals and Health Care
- Hotel
- Legal Services
- Maritime Transportation
- Media Production
- Non-profit Organisation
- Professional Training and Coaching
- Retail
- Retail Motor Vehicles
- Security and Investigations
- Spectator sport
- Telecommunications
- Travel Arrangements
If your industry sector is not listed above, we would especially like to hear from you and your apprentice. Please do get in touch with Marian Glover at marian.glover@shapingportsmouth.co.uk to join us on the tour.
Our aim is to offer secondary school pupils real-life inspiration into how they can become an apprentice across a wide range of industries in Portsmouth, every sector is looking for new talent and our roadshow is the perfect opportunity to showcase this.
