Launching the new Made in Pompey programme

Our new Made In Pompey programme kicks off this week, as the next evolution of our successful 100 in 100 campaign, which resulted in 249 apprenticeship, traineeship, and Kickstart scheme placements in the 100 days between 1st March and 6th June 2021.

Launched on 1st May 2023, Made in Pompey is a 9-month programme which will focus on creating and filling more than 600 job opportunities in a wider range of placements for the Portsmouth region with the support of our partners.
Our aim is to create and fill:

  • 250 Apprenticeships
  • 200 Industry Placements
  • 100 Work Experience Placements
  • 50 Sector-Based Work Academy Programmes
  • 30 Traineeships
  • 20 Supported Internships
  • 10 SEND Supported Placements

At the end of each month Shaping Portsmouth and the partner colleges will publish a Roll of Honour with details of the placements achieved, and once a month we will publish a spotlight article focusing on one of the placements.

Stef Nienaltowski, CEO of Shaping Portsmouth, said “It is a bold and positive programme, with our five local colleges and our SEN team all providing the opportunity to place passionate and positive people. We will call on all of our businesses to look at this offering and to utilise the Apprenticeship Levy and other opportunities to employ someone over the coming months.”
