Following the very successful 100 in 100 campaign in 2021 we are relaunching it as a new programme called Made In Pompey. The essence of this programme is to promote Apprenticeships, Traineeships and Assisted Internships from 1st April 2023 to the 31st January 2024.
The plan is to generate over 500 places in our local businesses and to give people of any age the best opportunity to start or restart their career journey in their chosen industry.
The programme also has these aims:
- To raise the profile of what we are doing to learners and employers.
- To provide training and information to both businesses and learners.
- To attract new learners and employers and increase employer engagement.
We are delighted to confirm that City of Portsmouth College, The Department of Work & Pensions, Fareham College, HaHa Training College, HSDC, Portsmouth City Council, The Princes Trust, The Solent Apprenticeship Hub, and Vivid have pledged to support this important initiative.
Each week we will be publishing the roll of success as businesses take on a person in one of the three aforementioned contracts.
Once a month we will be spotlighting one of the successful candidates and the business they have secured a placement at.
Jodi Fair, Manager at the Solent Apprenticeship Hub, said “The Solent Apprenticeship Hub is thrilled to be supporting Made in Pompey. We are looking forward to seeing the impact made by this amazing initiative on the local community.”
We are looking for a volunteer to lead this programme. A job description for the role can be found here.
If you wish to apply for the role or find out any more about this exciting new programme then please send an email to contactus@shapingpotsmouth.co.uk.
