Dr Anne Cotton, Headteacher
“The Portsmouth Grammar School was founded almost 300 years ago as a city centre school, to support the young people of Portsmouth.
We are keen to work with city partners to support educational developments in the city and to ensure the continuing growth of Portsmouth as a cultural hub and a successful city economy. We are proud to support the Portsmouth Festivities, which celebrates its 21st anniversary this year, and are looking to extend our partnerships within the city. Last year saw the school host its first Gifted and Talented Summer School for children from local schools, and we were delighted to offer a virtual equivalent during the Covid-19 lockdown. As part of our new Sixth Form curriculum we hope to see every Sixth Form pupil complete a placement in the community as part of their Personal Enrichment: Community, Action, Workplace Curriculum. We very much look forward to playing an active role in Shaping.”
