The Big Portsmouth Survey 2023 is open and Portsmouth City Council is inviting all residents aged 16 and over to share their experiences and views on the rising cost of living, local services and council spending priorities.
Between now and 8 September people in the city can have their say by completing the survey online or over the phone if they don’t have access to the internet.
Councillor Steve Pitt, Leader of Portsmouth City Council, said: “Portsmouth is your city, and we want you to have your say on how the current economic climate is affecting your life, and where you go for support if you’re finding things tough. We’d like you to tell us how you view and use council and NHS services, so that we can shape our budgets and services to help provide the support that people in Portsmouth need.
“The more people in the city we hear from, across different age groups and communities, the clearer the picture we’ll have of people’s priorities and concerns. We want to provide the support and services people want now but also set up our city for success over the coming years by investing in the things you think are important.”
The quickest and simplest way for residents to take part in the survey is to visit: www.portsmouth.gov.uk/your-say and select ‘The Big Portsmouth Survey’. Alternatively, residents can call Portsmouth City Council’s dedicated team on 023 9261 6708 and take the survey over the phone.

Visit www.portsmouth.gov.uk/your-say – this is the quickest and easiest way to have your say if you have internet access. You can also sign-up for email alerts, so you’ll be the first to know about new consultations.
The telephone way
Call 023 9261 6708 – if you don’t have access to the internet or will find it difficult to complete the survey online.
The findings from this consultation will be compared to similar surveys conducted over the past three years which allows the council to understand people’s changing priorities and the impact of local services on residents’ lives.
