The Guildhall Trust opens applications for its new, live artist development programme, HARBOUR.
Open to artists and creatives at varying stages of their career, HARBOUR aims to enhance the creative potential of practitioners across Portsmouth and the south coast by offering a full programme of support to four artists or companies over an 18-month period to assist them at a crucial time in their development.
The programme will provide a package of in-kind support including connecting artists to an accessible production space, equipment for rehearsals, technical support, production guidance and an accessible hot desk plus artistic, marketing and business support.
Each artist or company will also receive seed funding of between £500-£1000 to support the development of a project, a week-long intensive artist residency, access to peer learning days plus mentoring and networking support and guidance on fostering partnerships.
Applications are invited from those who are confident in their practice and artistic vision, who are working across different creative genres, programming work through a range of contexts and narratives and those making work that is concerned with the world we live in and socially engaged practice.
In particular, the Guildhall Trust is looking for practitioners who share their values – to educate, inspire, collaborate and diversify, who make inspiring and challenging performances for both traditional and non-traditional spaces and who use their practice to support communities and the lives of others.
Creative Producer for The Guildhall Trust, Benjamin Clabon said, “We are really excited to launch HARBOUR today and we look forward to working with the four chosen artists or companies over the following 18-months! We have developed the HARBOUR programme from our ongoing work with emerging artists over the last 5 years and understanding what support it is they need to really help them grow and succeed in what can be a challenging industry. I urge practitioners who are looking for support to make that next step to get in touch and see how this programme might benefit them”.
The deadline for applications is 5pm, Monday 29th August 2022. Head to www.portsmouthguildhall.org.uk for more information and an application form. Audio or video applications are also welcomed.
