Our Vision
The community of Portsmouth, and the wider area, has a history long entwined with that of the Armed Forces Community, particularly the Royal Navy. We are committed to ensuring that this legacy continues by developing a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of the Armed Forces Community. This includes serving personnel, reservists, veterans, spouses, children, and extended families, recognizing the essential role they play in our society.
Over 7 million people in the UK identify as part of the Armed Forces Community, including 1.85 million veterans. In Portsmouth, over 37,000 people, about 18% of the population, belong to this community. Therefore, it is essential to strengthen ties between the civilian and serving populations, providing support, recognition, and opportunities for everyone.
