Our July Mental Health Walk & Talk in Old Portsmouth, led by the brilliant John Grant from Solent Original Walks, was a powerful blend of local history and mental health awareness.
We wandered past iconic Portsmouth landmarks like the Horatio Nelson Statue, the Royal Garrison Church, Governor’s Green and The Dolphin pub (Portsmouth’s oldest pub!). John shared many stories that gave us new perspectives, not just about the past but about the mental health challenges those figures might have faced.
John’s passion for Portsmouth’s history and advocacy for mental health awareness, particularly around suicide prevention, was truly inspiring!
Thank you to everyone who attended, and a huge thank you to John for leading such an impactful session. A reminder that sometimes simply going for a walk can make a real difference to our wellbeing.
Our next walk will be held on 3rd September, with John Grant leading us around Spice Island, followed by CP Robinson’s Weird Tour of Portsmouth Cathedral. Find out more here.
