
On Friday, the delegates at the Shaping Portsmouth Conference voted the Wildings Team from the Mary Rose Academy Craneswater as the winners of Shaped By Solent 2026.
The winning team were mentored by Nick Gibson from Ferryspeed, and their product is the Senscapes Sensory Fidget Board, incorporating a spinner, a xylophone, a jigsaw, and a toy train on a track.
The Shaped by Solent project brings together Solent Academies Trust, City of Portsmouth College, Havant & South Downs College, and a range of Shaping Portsmouth Partner businesses to provide experienced Portsmouth business leaders as mentors to classes of Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) students.
This year the products were themed around the Portsmouth 100 centenary celebrations. other products included a Pompey Trumps Card Game from Team E2K at HSDC, Salted Caramel Brookies from the Mary Rose Academy Compass Team, and wood models of Tirpitz the Pig from the Littlegreen Academy Team.
Sales from the products in the Shaped By Solent Shop at the Shaping Portsmouth Conference raised £2,299.40 which will be divided between Solent Academies Trust, City of Portsmouth College, and Havant & South Downs College
