Our Digital Enablement charity laptop bundles are making their way to their new homes!
Thanks to a generous donation of laptops, monitors, keyboards, and mice from Portico Shipping, we were able to offer free tech bundles to Portsmouth-based charities and organisations.
The first batch of these bundles went to Art Space Portsmouth, SHIFT Portsmouth, B.More, Noah Mapalo Help Centre, Headway Portsmouth & South East Hampshire, and Drayton Men’s Shed.
In addition to these bundles we were able to offer monitors to the Roberts Centre, A Band of Brothers, Aspex Portsmouth, Pompey in the Community, and URBOND.
Richard Weekes, Charity Operations Lead at SHIFT Portsmouth, said “The laptop so kindly provided to SHIFT Portsmouth has given a home office new life. It replaces an outdated and ineffectual machine and will allow us to further our work to aid those in the city who experience difficulty with their thoughts and emotions. We are super grateful!”
Kyla Foster,Youth Development Manager at URBOND, said “The new screens will significantly enhance our new multi-purpose space, which will host employability and CV workshops, youth development sessions and revision classes. This project also sparked valuable local collaboration between our two nearby organisations, revealing shared interests that had not been explored before.”
Thank you again to Portico Shipping for the donation, who confirmed on Monday that they have another seven laptops ready to be donated. These will be offered first to the charities with bundle requests that weren’t fulfilled in the first batch before opening up requests to additional charities if any remain.
If you or your business have any tech you’d like to donate, please get in touch at info@shapingportsmouth.co.uk.
