Help tell the story of a city working together: we’re recruiting a Communications Lead
Shaping Portsmouth is entering an exciting phase, and we’re looking for a Communications Lead to help tell our story and bring more people into it.
Across our Business, Education and Community programmes, we bring together people and organisations with a shared ambition: to make Portsmouth the number one UK city in which to invest, live, learn, work and visit. Collaboration is at the heart of that ambition, and our communications have an essential part to play in turning it into action.
As we strengthen how we communicate our purpose and demonstrate our impact, we want to share the stories behind our programmes: the opportunities created, the relationships built and the difference people make when they work together. We want our partners to see their contribution reflected in those stories, and others to feel inspired to get involved.
Our Communications Lead will be central to this work. Working with colleagues, volunteers and partners across Portsmouth, they will turn shared achievements into compelling content, develop campaigns, manage our digital channels and help build a clear, consistent voice for the organisation.
We’re looking for a creative storyteller who enjoys building relationships and can combine thoughtful planning with practical delivery. In return, we offer a supportive, ambitious team, flexible working and the opportunity to help shape how Portsmouth sees and celebrates collaboration.
The permanent role is 30 hours per week, with flexible working arrangements and an anticipated January 2027 start. The salary is £27,945 full-time equivalent, pro rata for 30 hours.
