One of the most frequent requests for support we get from businesses approaching Portsmouth Business Support Service is around marketing. So, we are excited to say we have now signed an agreement to set up a new collaboration between Portsmouth City Council, the University of Portsmouth and ourselves to help local small businesses.
We’re working together to create the Marketing Agency – a service where University of Portsmouth students act on marketing courses act as a Marketing agency and bring new ideas and customer insights to your business.
Anne L Murphy, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), said: ‘I’m delighted to see us furthering our already great relationships with Shaping Portsmouth and Portsmouth City Council, with this new initiative. The Marketing Agency is a great example of our ambitious and engaging curriculum. It will give our students invaluable real-world experience which counts towards their degrees and provide our local business community with innovative ideas and expertise’.
David Humphries, CEO at Shaping Portsmouth, said: ‘We’ve had first-hand experience of what a great job our University’s marketing students can do to support businesses and are delighted to be able to create a pathway to help local businesses access this support and provide some real-world learning to students.’
