Bringing Charity & Community Leaders Together

CP Robinson with Paul Morgan from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising

Last month, Shaping Portsmouth hosted our first Portsmouth Charity & Community Leaders’ Forum in partnership with The Hive Portsmouth, and hosted at the Mountbatten Centre by BH Live.

The new event is the sister event to our long-running Portsmouth Business Leaders’ Forum, and gives the charity and community sector in the city the opportunity for connection, collaboration, learning and practical support.

Over 80 attendees joined the PCCLF, representing charities, CICs, and community groups, with a mix of paid staff, trustees and volunteers. Presenting at the event were Rob Cunningham from BH Live, Courtnee Mitchell on behalf of Shaping Portsmouth, Hayley Cook from Portsmouth City Council and The Hive, Mary Williams from the University of Portsmouth, and Paul Morgan from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, to inform attendees about access to community programmes, health opportunities, university partnerships, and fundraising expertise.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for community and charity leaders across the city to connect, share knowledge and develop their skills, directly responding to feedback from the community about the need for greater opportunities to do so. It also enabled charity and community leaders to connect with programmes and initiatives across the city that could provide valuable support and benefits to them and their organisations.

If you are a charity or CIC based in Portsmouth in need of support from our Charity Support programme, please get in contact with courtnee@shapingportsmouth.co.uk to see how we can help.
