These free sessions continue our commitment to empowering local enterprises in Portsmouth, providing invaluable insights and strategies to help businesses flourish in today’s competitive landscape.
Group Business Coaching: Empower Your Business
On Friday, 31st January, we hosted our first Group Business Coaching session of 2025, led by qualified business coach Matt Mullins, a Shaping Portsmouth partner, from ActionCOACH. This hands-on workshop offered practical strategies aimed at strengthening business foundations and achieving long-term success. Participants engaged in group coaching, facilitated learning, and action planning, covering key areas such as goal setting, customer satisfaction, time management, and financial understanding. The session was well-received, with attendees expressing appreciation for the actionable insights and collaborative environment.
Matt Mullins commented, “It was great to run another event in collaboration with Shaping Portsmouth, helping business owners in Portsmouth understand how to get the foundation of their business solid so they can grow in an efficient and profitable way. These workshops are fantastic for anybody who owns a business, and is looking for real, actionable ideas, that they can implement into their business to help them achieve both their business and personal goals.”
Marketing Workshop: Lead Generation Masterclass
On Monday, 3rd February, we facilitated our very first Lead Generation Masterclass, led by marketing expert Jodie Goodchild. This session was designed to equip businesses with effective lead generation strategies, enhancing their overall marketing efforts. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of how to attract and convert potential customers, leveraging various marketing channels and techniques. The interactive format encouraged participants to discuss their unique challenges and develop tailored solutions.
Jodie Goodchild remarked, “I came away from Monday’s session feeling completely energised! So many people think they need huge budgets to win new clients, but seeing the moment they realise LinkedIn can be simple, effective, and cost-free is what I love most. We also dived into the importance of lead generation, what it really is, how to set realistic targets, and how to build a strategy that works for their business. Those lightbulb moments never get old! I can’t wait to check in with everyone and see how they’ve put their plans into action when we next catch up.
Marian Glover, Business Pillar Lead, added, “It has been a fantastic start to the year for the business pillar. The positive feedback from these workshops underscores our commitment to supporting the local business community. We are dedicated to offering more initiatives that foster growth and innovation among Portsmouth businesses. Last year, the programme made significant strides, and we are excited to build on that success.”
