Introducing our new PBSS Programme Leads

Andy Derrick

Shaping Portsmouth are pleased to welcome two new members to the team in the form of Tim Rampton and Andy Derrick, volunteer co-leads of our Portsmouth Business Support Service programme.

With over 40 years in financial services and personal development, Tim has coached and led numerous teams and individuals to achieve success.

Andy is an experienced business manager, entrepreneur, leader, and former business owner with technical expertise in the fire systems and life safety sector.

New figures show that Portsmouth’s business community is thriving, with 2,006 new businesses started in 2024, an increase on the previous year. This helped Hampshire reach a record-high total of 127,564 registered companies, despite the economic challenges of the past year.

At Shaping Portsmouth, we’ve seen this business growth first-hand through the Portsmouth Business Support Service. Run in partnership with Portsmouth City Council’s Economic Development & Skills Team, the programme has already made a real difference since launching at the 2024 Shaping Portsmouth Annual Conference.

In the Business Pillar update this January, Marian Glover Business Pillar Lead, our CEO Dave Humphries and Business Pillar Non-Executive Director Jane Lamer highlighted the progress made in the programme’s first year — and we’re not stopping there. In 2025, we’re planning to expand our support with new partnerships, more services, and stronger collaborations to help businesses at all stages grow and succeed.
