Last week, Charla, Marian and Suzan spent some time together reflecting on International Women’s Day. They talked about what it means to be women in business, about equality, the theme of give to gain and most importantly how we as a team could create something that supports lasting change.
So often there is a spotlight on women for just one day. We wanted to create something more meaningful, aligned with our values as an organisation and something that continues throughout the year. This week they even recorded a special podcast edition to share their thoughts and plans.
We reflected on our own journeys as women, what we have learnt along the way and how that insight could help inspire the next generation, whether they go into business or any career path they choose. We also thought about our incredible business community and the many inspiring women leading the way, especially in industries where you might not always expect to see them.
From that conversation, we have decided to offer a few hours each month to a college in our network, connecting students with women in business to share their experiences, stories and wisdom. Our next step is to speak with colleges to understand what they need so we can shape these visits in a way that is genuinely useful and impactful.
