Portsmouth City Council has launched the Rediscover Portsmouth mobile-friendly website to help residents shop local and support Portsmouth businesses.
The website, rediscoverportsmouth.co.uk, highlights Portsmouth’s wide variety of businesses and features deals, directions and opening hours. Designed for use on the move, residents can use built-in GPS technology to discover businesses near their location.
From Albert Road, Milton Market, Castle Street and Palmerston Road to Fratton, Copnor Road, Cosham and the City Centre, Portsmouth has a huge variety of independent shops, restaurants, takeaways and high street brands waiting to be rediscovered.
Cllr Ben Dowling, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Economic Development said, “The pandemic has had a huge impact on businesses across the city and we are keen to support their recovery and protect local jobs. There is so much to rediscover in Portsmouth.”
Businesses in the city can still sign up to be listed on the Rediscover Portsmouth website, which is a free placemaking opportunity, by visiting the website to register.
Rediscover Portsmouth is a Portsmouth City Council project funded from the EU’s European Regional Development Fund to support businesses through the COVID pandemic.
