Southsea Food Festival 2026 dates confirmed

Portsmouth City Council is proud to announce the return of the much-loved Southsea Food Festival, taking place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July 2026 in the heart of Southsea.

Now in its 18th year, the festival continues to champion Portsmouth’s vibrant food and drink scene. This year’s event will be extra special as it joins the Portsmouth 100 programme – a city-wide celebration marking 100 years since Portsmouth was granted city status.

The two-day festival will transform Southsea’s town centre into a bustling hub of activity, with food and drink stalls, live music, family entertainment, and the return of the Kitchen Stage, featuring live demonstrations from local chefs and producers.

Last year’s event drew over 63,000 visitors and generated £1.52 million for the local economy, according to an independent study by Portsmouth-based research firm Evosa. With over 80 businesses taking part, more than half from Portsmouth, the festival has become a key driver of the city’s visitor economy and a celebration of its diverse culinary talent.

Portsmouth City Council will produce the event in partnership with the experienced team behind Victorious Festival, ensuring a high-quality experience for residents, traders, and visitors alike, solidifying its reputation as one of the South’s largest food festivals.

Councillor Steve Pitt, Leader of Portsmouth City Council and Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said “Southsea Food Festival is a brilliant example of how we can support local businesses while attracting thousands of visitors to our city. As part of Portsmouth 100, this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, helping to grow our food and drink sector and strengthen our local economy.”

James Ralls, Managing Director of Victorious Festival, added “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Portsmouth City Council. Southsea Food Festival is always a highlight of Portsmouth’s summer calendar and a great way to celebrate the incredible food talent we have in the region. We’re proud to be supporting it once again.”

Applications are now open for businesses and traders to take part in Southsea Food Festival 2026.
