Exploring the UK’s climate adaptation priorities, place-based resilience, cross-sector collaboration, and business-led investment.
In May 2026 the Climate Change Committee published its major Risk Assessment – A well-adapted UK. This report identified areas of action, emphasised the need for working across systems and the importance of place-based adaptation. It also made clear that financing adaptation action would require business involvement.
Last year we heard from businesses about how they are already being affected by climate change. With exceptional heatwaves already this year and an increasing understanding how this is affecting how people live and work within Portsmouth, Climate Ready 2026 looks to accelerate collective action for a well-adapted place.
