Business leaders and HR professionals across Portsmouth are invited to a free practical session to help their organisations prepare for forthcoming changes to sexual harassment law.
Hosted by Engendering Change in collaboration with Shaping Portsmouth, the two-hour session will take place on Wednesday 7 October, from 3pm to 5pm, at the Shaping Portsmouth office in Guildhall Walk.
With new legal requirements coming into effect on 30 October, the event will help employers understand what is changing, what it means for their organisation and the steps they should be taking now.
Led by Jo Morgan of Engendering Change, the session will explore employers’ responsibilities for preventing sexual harassment, the additional risks created by third-party harassment and what taking “reasonable steps” looks like in practice.
Attendees will also be encouraged to consider whether their organisation’s policies, training and reporting processes are sufficient, and will receive practical guidance to help strengthen compliance and protect both their people and their organisation.
The session is particularly suitable for business leaders, employers and Heads of HR who want to understand where their organisation may be exposed and leave with clear, practical next steps.
