Choose Employability

Portsmouth Youth Cabinet’s consultations with young people in the city revealed that 91% have never been in paid employment, and that 67% have wanted a job, but were unable to get one. They want to work, develop skills, and earn money, but the opportunities for them to do so are few and far between.

The programme aims to remove barriers to businesses employing young people by providing reliable information about the rules and processes required, and providing a space where young people can submit their key skills, interests, and availability to create a registry for businesses to recruit from.
