Homeless & Rough Sleepers

We know many people experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless want to work. A stable job can help someone escape homelessness and offer a chance for a more independent life.

The Society of St James provide essential support to individuals locally and we have partnered up to create a programme that helps them overcome barriers and gain the skills and confidence to land their next job. We also work closely with employers to raise awareness of homelessness and break the stigma that often holds them back.

For these clients, a new job is more than a source of income. It’s the chance to have a new life, and you won’t find a more motivated group.

People struggle to afford the essentials, let alone a new suit and the tube fare for an interview. This puts people experiencing homelessness at an instant disadvantage when looking for a job and most jobs are advertised and must be applied online. And interviews and working from home are now commonplace. This creates a barrier if you lack IT access or aren’t confident using the various online platforms. If your organisation can support these individuals by providing some of these essentials, then please d make sure you let us know and we will then be able to remove some of the barriers preventing our clients from accessing the work they both need and deserve.
