Explore Your Future Business Breakfast Briefing launches

The first of our Explore Your Future Business Breakfast Briefing pilot events took place at Admiral Lord Nelson School on Monday 27th February to huge success. The programme aims to give pupils from the school an opportunity to gain insight into specific industries, get expert answers and start building their professional network.

This first session saw twelve students meeting Yvonne Clay, Centre Director at Gunwharf Quays, who discussed Property and Development, and Amanda Ansell, Head of Marketing at Carrington West, to talk about marketing.

Amanda said “We had a nice number and they looked pretty engaged. I think we worked well because Yvonne talked about her varied career and of course Gunwharf is relatable for them, whereas I talked more about marketing as a discipline. As a result they had two sides of a story, but the underlying themes were the same.”

Ollie Riches, Careers Manager at Admiral Lord Nelson School, said “I loved every minute of it. The speakers were excellent, what an honour to have such incredible individuals to give up their time.”

Next week’s session, with thirteen students booked on to attend, will feature Tony Sammut from Spinnaker Tower informing on the food and drink industry, and Georgina Shepherd from Gunwharf Quays discussing Business.
