Two of our Programme Leads have pledged to take part in CEO Sleepout Portsmouth on Thursday 27th April.
Lisa Gibbs, leader of our Business Digital Resilience programme, and Stephanie Parker, who recently joined as Co-Lead of our Skills & Employability programme will be spending the night under the stars at Fratton Park to raise money to combat homelessness.
CEO Sleepout brings business leaders together to make a stand against homelessness. They do this by holding CEO Sleepout events in cities the length of the UK, from Northumberland to Portsmouth and everywhere in between, raising funds that make a real difference to people facing homelessness in their host cities. To date, they have raised a phenomenal £3.6 Million pounds from over 5000 participants, and donated money to over 100 hard-working charities on the frontline of homelessness, changing countless lives.
Lisa, who is also Director of Philip Gibbs Insurance Brokers, said “I was inspired to take part by hearing Bianca Robinson speak about CEO Sleepout at the Shaping Portsmouth conference last month. I was sitting with Stephanie Parker at the time and we both decided there and then to show our support and help raise money for such a worthy cause.”
Stephanie, Skills and Employment Strategy Lead & My Future in Portsmouth Youth Hub Manager at Portsmouth City Council, said “I have always been aware that homelessness is a significant issue, but with the cost of living crisis hitting hard, my heart breaks for every individual who can no longer afford to keep a roof over their heads. The statistics are incredibly saddening, and if by sleeping out for just one night we can raise the vital money and awareness to help those affected, then it truly is the least we can do.”
