We Need You: Take part in our Business Carbon Calculator pilot project

Are you looking to make a real difference in the fight against climate change? As part of the Shaping Portsmouth mission to look at and start to tackle our business climate action and carbon reduction plans in the city, in collaboration with South Western Railway and Exo Energy, our team has created a simple tool that helps estimate and calculate the carbon footprint of businesses.

For this pilot, we created a simple tool that helps organisations calculate their carbon footprint. The tool is user-friendly and takes only a few minutes to complete provided you have all the information needed.

Many businesses have already taken part in this initiative including the Guildhall Trust, Cascades Shopping Center, UNLOC, PMC Construction, St Ronans Care Home, GRP Solutions and many more.

Cozette Gelineau, PA to the Managing Director at PMC Construction, said “The Carbon Calculator initiative was an interesting exercise for us and one we will continue to monitor! We are all electric and we are now looking at changes to subsequently continue to move up the Benchmark. We have started the journey already, switching our office pool cars to electric (from vans) as an example, but there is still room for improvement!”

Nick Coles, Head of Facilities and Event Director at the Guildhall Trust, also said “The Guildhall got an A rating… It is the same score we got on our DEC so proves the calculator programme works.”

Are you a business looking to make a positive impact on the environment and show your commitment to carbon reduction? If so, we would like to invite you to join the Carbon Calculator Project.
