This week saw some more changes to the Shaping Portsmouth Team as we welcomed Sarah Thompson as our new Education Pillar Lead, but said goodbye to Suzan Win Latt who is moving on to a new role.
As a military spouse, Sarah first lived in Portsmouth from 2015 to 2016. Since then, she and her family have moved several times, including two years in the USA, so she’s especially excited to finally put down roots after recently buying a home in Southsea.
Sarah previously worked as a personal trainer before becoming a teacher. In her free time, she loves staying active, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors as much as possible.
Sarah said “I’m delighted to be joining Shaping Portsmouth as the Education Lead, bringing my teaching experience and enthusiasm for improving outcomes for children and young people to the team. I looks forward to supporting an organisation whose values align closely with my own and contributing to meaningful work that makes a positive impact across the community.”
Suzan joined us two years ago as an Office Administrator, before taking up the role of Education & Community Pillar Lead at the beginning of 2025. Suzan will be joining Atkins Realis as Assist Project Manager.
Suzan said “As I leave Shaping Portsmouth, I do so with immense gratitude and a heart full of meaningful memories. Over the past two years, I have been privileged to be part of a truly special community – one built on connection, collaboration, and genuine support.
“What I will cherish most are the people, the relationships and the sense of belonging that make Shaping Portsmouth so unique. The bonds I have formed here have been both inspiring and empowering and they are something I will carry with me wherever I go. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey.”
