The Shaping Portsmouth Team are pleased to announce that Chris West has joined us as our new Workplace Health & Wellbeing Programme Lead.
After working in commercial environments with the food industry Chris had a career transition to focus upon mental health and wellbeing during 2021.
His passion had always been helping, developing and supporting people which was always evident in his approach to coaching. One of his proudest moments was when somebody he helped to recruit as a junior became his boss after a number of years.
Working for Solent Mind within the Workplace Wellbeing team has enabled Chris to combine numerous traits and skills which have been built over the last 27 years of work to help and support others.
Chris said “I am hugely passionate about equipping people with the confidence, empathy and understanding to support others when they may need it. As someone who is very proud of Portsmouth, the opportunity to become the volunteer Program Lead with Shaping Portsmouth was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down!
“I hope to be able to unite all of the wonderful mental health and wellbeing services within the city (and beyond) to enable people to be able to access the right and relevant support if and when they may need it.”
Marian Glover, Shaping Portsmouth’s Business Pillar Lead, adds “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Chris to the team as our new volunteer Co-Lead for our Workplace Health and Wellbeing programme. Chris’s extensive background, combined with his deep pride in our city, makes him an invaluable addition. Our longstanding partnership with Solent Mind has been instrumental in the success of this programme. Now, with Chris’s leadership and support, we’re planning to expand our services and build even stronger collaborations. This will undoubtedly solidify and grow the programme, allowing us to have an even greater impact across Portsmouth.”
