On the evening of Wednesday 18th October, Managing Directors, CEOs, and other senior level executives sat down with fourteen students at the HSDC Catering Centre for the Directors of the Future dinner, organised in partnership with Shaping Portsmouth and Business South.
The dinner was an opportunity for the students, the entrepreneurs of the future, to network and discuss their career ambitions. The aim of the evening was to provide discussion around issues, challenges and opportunities, while also providing a platform for business leaders to take action in aspiring future employees.
Taking part as present directors were representatives from Shaping Portsmouth partners Biscoes, City of Portsmouth College, Ferryspeed, Gunwharf Quays, Kier, Portsmouth Cathedral, Portsmouth City Council, Solent Academies Trust, TRACOuk and the University of Portsmouth, plus our own CEO, Stef Nienaltowski.
Yvonne Clay, Managing Director of Gunwharf Quays, said “It was a wonderful evening – great food, great networking, and a great opportunity to speak with young people who will clearly be our directors of the future. It was obvious that HSDC are focused on supporting young people in the Portsmouth area to be ‘work ready’. Our future is in very safe hands!”
Stef Nienaltowski said “It was an outstanding evening, and we plan to do it again in the future. My thanks to all the Shaping partners for making the time to actually help these young people on their journeys towards their futures.”
